Kim HyunJoong’s take on the character of Baek SeungJo was initially criticized after the broadcast of the first episode since viewers felt that his portrayal of him was too close to his previous character, Boys Over Flowers‘ Yoon JiHoo. But most viewers have now put those comparisons to rest as they watched the second episode in which HyunJoong challenged his acting skills for the arrogant and tough character.

The nine member girl group SNSD have hit the top of the charts in Japan.

SNSD’s DVD SNSD returns-Japan commemoration-New beginning of Girls Generation ranked number one on the Oricon DVD charts.

The girls have not yet officially released a record, so this is quite the achievement for them already, they have raised a lot of attention from Japanese fans, as well as Japanese current Idols and Idol groups.

They have achieved this in just the first three weeks of it being released, as it was released in stores on the 11^th of August and on the same day it was announced as number two in the Oricon DVD Music Division Charts. The DVDs were practically sold out!

Now the waiting game starts for the official debut with the Genie album to be released on the 8^th of September.

So that’s another Korean Girl group dominating the Japanese charts. Well done!

Seventeen-year old Niel has become a hot topic after his debut as a member of all-boy group Teen Top. Fans commented that he looks like SE7EN, Lee Kikwang or Choi Yeojin.

Before turning into the charming idol he is now, Niel dreamed of becoming a football player. He also admitted that he became interested in acting after seeing young actor Yoo Seungho in a movie.

With his mother’s support, he started acting in the drama Children’s Chorus during his 5th grade and became known as a child actor Ahn Daniel, Niel’s real name.

So, why did this Teen Top member turn into a singer instead? While busy with his activities as an actor, Niel heard by chance a song played in the radio and decided to pursue singing.

The Teen Top members were in for a surprise as they headed to the filming of GomTV‘s Making The Artist. Not knowing what the expect, the boys gave their best efforts for the reality show.

During the September 2nd broadcast of GomTV‘s Making The Artist, the Teen Top members were unexpectedly taken to the marine corps. None of the members had no idea where they were going, making the show 100% reality. Teen Top was able to show off their friendship bonds as they worked hard with each other and accomplished missions with their strong team work.

BEAST‘s powerful vocalist, HyunSeung, celebrated his birthday yesterday with his fellow members and fans!

On September 3, HyunSeung finally turned 21 years old (22 in Korean age). This being his first birthday since his debut with BEAST, everyone wanted to make this birthday was particularly special!

BEAST’s fan club baked a delicious cake for HyunSeung, and in their fan cafe, they wrote the message, “One shot of the birthday cake he received from the fans! The cake was so pretty… so if we placed candles on the cake, we were afraid that the mini doll decoration of Hyunseung would melt so we just took a picture without lighting it ^-^;;(Disappointing but we didn’t take a picture of the part ㅠ-ㅠ Please forgive us )”

On an episode of KBS Happy Birthday (scheduled to air September 6), EunHyuk confessed his worries over his status compared to LeeTeuk. The two often appear on variety programs together, including their regular hosting gig on Sukira radio, which led EunHyuk to admit that “people remember LeeTeuk more than me and sometimes people even think I’m LeeTeuk.” He also added “I’m worried as to whether I should continue to go on shows with LeeTeuk or if I should work independently.”

Lee KyungKyu, who was also on the show, sympathized with EunHyuk, saying, “I think it’s because LeeTeuk talks too much.” KyungKyu later jokingly recommended EunHyuk to a variety academy he’s running. He said that if EunHyuk gives him 300,000 Won, he will be able to go on variety shows alone, causing all the guests to burst out laughing at the joke.

All the Super Junior members are popular in their own way, so let’s hope EunHyuk doesn’t get too worried about his dilemma!

SNSD’s  SeoHyun and CNBlue’s YongHwa have proven yet again their chemistry as a couple. In today’s broadcast of MBC Incheon Korea Music Wave 2010, the YongSeo couple made good with their promise to fans of a joint performance.

After YongHwa’s indie band wrapped up their hit song Love, fans erupted in cheers as his We Got Married wife SeoHyun joined him on stage. They performed SNSD’s Run Devil Run with a special rock twist, and CNBlue’s Love Light with a little bit of skinship.

Their memorable performance ended to the tune of thousands of cheering fans as the couple held hands, sending love to their favorite couple.
